Healthcare Price Transparency

Public hospital rate lookup · healthcare.traqqit.com

Problem
Hospital negotiated-rate files (machine-readable MRF data) are huge and unusable for a patient or a small practice trying to compare prices.
Built
A DuckDB and Parquet pipeline that ingests and normalizes negotiated rates, with a FastAPI backend and a web front end for looking up rates by procedure and payer (initial focus: Anthem PPO).
Outcome
A working public lookup tool, and the groundwork for an orthopedics-focused variant.

PSP Browser

Modern web on a 2004 handheld · pspbrowser.traqqit.com (TODO: link when live)

Problem
The PlayStation Portable's built-in browser can't render the modern web.
Built
A Python/Flask proxy on a Raspberry Pi that fetches, simplifies, and re-serves pages the PSP can render, plus a public site with a one-line curl | bash installer, a systemd unit, and a setup guide.
Outcome
Anyone with a Pi can stand up a working PSP browser in minutes. Deployed on Hostinger using the same traqqit.com pattern as this site.

House-wide CO₂ monitoring

Homelab · sensors to dashboards

Problem
No visibility into indoor air quality across rooms, and a home internet connection behind CGNAT that blocks normal self-hosting.
Built
ESP32-C3 and SCD41 sensor nodes on ESPHome and MQTT feeding InfluxDB and Grafana, all in Docker Compose on a Raspberry Pi 4B. Tailscale for private access, Cloudflare Tunnels for public hosting, MikroTik routing.
Outcome
Continuous room-level CO₂ dashboards and a reusable hosting pattern for other side projects.

Medical bill review automation

Reviewing and negotiating medical bills is manual: read the bill, pull the codes, check them against expected rates, draft the dispute.

I'm a healthcare data analyst in Phoenix. By day I do medical economics at HOPCo, a musculoskeletal value-based care company. Before that I worked on ACO performance and population health at OnBelay Health Solutions, Equality Health, and ACO Partner, mostly in SQL, Python, and Power BI, mostly on claims.

On the side I run Data Hound Technologies, teach graduate health informatics at Grand Canyon University, and build small tools that live at traqqit.com. I like problems where the data is messy, the money is real, and someone has to explain the answer to a non-technical room.
